Gemma Cantine was founded in 1978 by Silvano Piacentini, in the heart of Barolo region, in Serralunga D’Alba.
In 2012 Gemma renewed its structure, with modern construction techniques, as photovoltaic plant and geothermal system, in order to preserve the environment.
Thanks to these innovations, Gemma obtained the Certification Iso/14067 for zero CO2 emissions into the environment during the entire process, from the vineyard to the bottle.
Gemma company owns 26 hectares of vineyards in the Langhe region, in particular:
Serralunga D’Alba (Barolo, Barolo Colarej), Monforte D’Alba (Barolo, Barolo Riserva Giblin, Barbera D’Alba Angelini), La Morra (Barolo, Barbera D’Alba Superiore Gelso), Roddino (Dolcetto d’Alba Madonna della Neve, Langhe Nebbiolo Ruja).
Nowadays Luigi, Silvano’s son, manages the company with Giorgio Barbero, oenologist and agronomist, who is responsible for supervising and developing all of Cantine Gemma’s viticultural and winemaking operations.
